Kumon Point Cook is an award winning centre recognised year on year by KANZ for Excellence in Instruction of the Kumon Math and English programmes. KumonPC is proud to be ranked amongst the top 3 largest centres across Australia and New Zealand, and in the top 10 for nurturing primary school students to study senior high school topics.

Kumon is traditionally a home-based, pencil and paper programme,. It is designed for students to study at home every day on their own. It is ideal for extended periods at home. For a short time, every day, no calculator, no keyboard, no screen, no high-speed internet connection necessary. Students take out their worksheets, pick up a pencil, read, think, write, and use an eraser to correct their errors.

We have included a wealth of guidelines and resources for parents to support children at home with their daily Kumon studies. Please peruse through to find materials that are relevant to your child’s Kumon level of study.

Kumon is primarily a home based learning program. Students study worksheets on a daily basis. Worksheets are designed so that students progress in a logical, sequential manner consolidating past skills in preparation for the next concept or level, ultimately developing the ability to study beyond grade level through self-learning.

Please ensure your child brings everything they need to complete their work each time they attend the centre. We have a ‘NO STATIONERY, NO IN CENTRE STUDY’ policy to limit the spread of viruses as per our COVIDSAFE plan. For a full list of supplies

To ensure we are able to focus on students during class we ask all parents to contact us by email during class hours. Your assistance with facilitating an excellent study environment for your children is much appreciated.

The best way to establish and maintain a long-term study habit is to create a routine as there are significant benefits in studying a little each day.

Daily homework is only complete once marked and corrected! Ongoing adherence to the correct marking procedures at home  will enable students to learn immediately from their mistakes, and to progress more smoothly through the Kumon program.

Here are some helpful hints to build a ‘reading-friendly’ environment that will make everyday reading fun.

Our ultimate goal is to support our students in their journey to program completion. We encourage program completion at an early age, to capitalise on young childrens’ ability to absorb and learn, and whilst they still have lots of time to work towards this goal.
